Which? have tested and evaluated The Hollingwell Riser Recliner Chair and have given it a Best Buy rating for 2024.

The Hollingwell is manufactured here in the UK by Celebrity Furniture and since its introduction to the market in 2023 it has quickly become a best seller.

The popularity of the Hollingwell is due to its exceptional comfort, with its deep padded backrest and soft padded arms.

Which?, particularly liked the Tilt in Space recliner action, which means the angle of the seat and backrest remain at a constant 90 degree angle as the whole seat tilts when reclining, maintaining support for your back legs and feet.

Which? also found the chair to be ‘exceptionally comfortable’, secure and easy to get in and out of.

The sprung loaded footrest prevents an entrapment between the side of the chair and the footrest, therefore providing an element of crush prevention and entrapment.

Earning a top score for Which? is the backup battery system, this allows you to move the chair from a reclined position to an upright position more than 10 times if there’s a power cut. Not all suppliers provide them.

Which? did have a couple niggles, however, we thought they were a bit picky.

They suggested that the pouch for the handset was too small…it is actually the full depth of the chair. They also felt that the icons on the handset aren’t very clear and it took their panellists a while to work them out. Take a look at the image of the handset and make up your own mind.
